Welcome to PhotonicWiki
This Wiki area is part of the European Project PhotonicRoadSME (project's website) that was funded under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission (EC). This collection of web pages contains the relevant data, information and results of the PhotonicRoadSME project. It is dedicated to the nanophotonics sector, comprising the scientific and technology related as well as the market related situation and outcomes of the project.
The project aimed at developing technology roadmaps in the field of photonics. These roadmaps are available in forms of public reports, but are also the main subject of this Wiki area. Through this one, SMEs can get the roadmaps developed in the course of the project in a structured manner, by having the opportunity to visit only the pages of interest. This provide thus the opportunity to develop company-specific roadmaps or to implement an on-line roadmapping process.
This PhotonicWiki cover the PhotonicRoadSME project's results on different nanophotonic materials, novel photonic devices and components as well as on related key fabrication technologies.
The first outcome of the project is 4 technology roadmaps covering 4 industrial sectors that will largely benefit from photonics. These relevant industrial sectors and the related sub-sectors investigated in the course of the project are:
Furthermore, these roadmaps were adapted to 3 different profiles of SMEs in 3 SME-type specific roadmaps.
The 3 profiles of SMEs investigated are:
Finally, to complete these roadmaps, the partners in the project have investigated 9 categories of nanophotonic materials composing most of the relevant devices identified. 9 public reports on these nanophotonic materials categories have been compiled and their content made available on this Wiki area.
The 9 categories of nanophotonic materials investigated in the course of the projet are:
