23.06.2010 - PhotonicRoadSME Workshop in Karlsruhe, Germany
Our project partner KSOP and SEZ organise a workshop on the 23rd of June. We invite SMEs to come to this workshop to have more informations concerning the project, to discover the Database, as well as the Roadmaps, generated during the project. The Workshop gives opportunity to meet industrial partners from different sectors and to discuss and gather ideas for future activities.

As part of the project's data collection and analysis, the scientific partners within the PhotonicRoadSME consortium have compiled survey reports covering 9 photonic material categories/classes. These reports can be downloaded in the "Downloads" section.

15.06.2009 - 2nd Expert Panel Meeting in Munich, Germany
On 15th June 2009, the second Expert Panel Meeting of the PhotonicRoadSME project will take place at the Mövenpick Hotel München-Airport in Munich, Germany. The results of the project's market survey, technology audits and SWOT analyses will be validated and complemented by an industrial expert panel.
06.-07.05.2009 - Project's Partner Meeting and Seminar on Nanophotonics in Oulu, Finland
On 6th May 2009, the PhotonicRoadSME consortium will meet at Micropolis Ltd. in Oulu, Finland, for its partner meeting. Furthermore, on 7th May, Micropolis Ltd. organised a programme covering lectures and presentations about novel nanophotonics concepts as well as laboratory visits in the VTT facilities.
26.-27.11.2008 - Photonics Valencia 2008: Industrial Applications
Our project partner AIDO will host the Photonics Valencia 2008 on 26th and 27th of November, aiming to meet the industry network through the latest developments in industrial applications using photonics technology. In particular, topics related to artificial vision and laser material processing will be discussed. The conference gives opportunity to meet industrial partners from different sectors and to discuss and gather ideas for future activities.
25.11.2008 - Expert Panel Meeting in Valencia, Spain
On 25th November 2008, the first Expert Panel Meeting of the PhotonicRoadSME project will take place at our partner AIDO in Valencia, Spain. The results of the first 6 months of the project will be validated and complemented by the scientific and industrial Experts. Also, timelines for nanophotonics as well as recommendations for SMEs will be discussed.
08.10.2008 - Start of market survey
At the moment, we are conducting a market survey on the photonics related industrial sectors. If you like to help us, please fill out our online questionnaire or alternatively download the PDF and send it back to us via fax.
19.09.2008 - The 2008 Steinbeis Day
On 19th of September, the 2008 Steinbeis Day will be held at the "Alte Reithalle" in Stuttgart, Germany. The Steinbeis Day will give you an insight into the management and technological expertise offered by the Steinbeis Network. Beside the traditional exhibition by Steinbeis Centers, a number of brief lectures on current issues and research results will be held. Here, the PhotonicRoadSME project will be presented in a brief presentation.
18.-19.09.2008 - "Concertation meeting - FP7 Photonics projects"
On 18th and 19th of September, participants from the Photonics related projects funded under the ICT Thematic Priority will present their projects and have opportunity to establish valuable contacts in Barcelona, Spain. This come-together shall contribute towards building a European Photonics community as well as encourage the exchange of information and best-practice between projects for synergistic effects. The meeting will be organised by ICFO - 'The Institute of Photonics Sciences'. Meet us there!
20.-21.08.2008 - KSOP Summer School 2008
The Karlsruhe School of Optics and Photonics (KSOP), partner within the PhotonicRoadSME project, invites you to join the Optics & Photonics community in an extraordinary environment and to get interesting insights and learn about new approaches in the context of Optics & Photonics research. The two-day program comprises four "slots" related to the KSOP research areas each with one keynote speaker and additional well-known experts. This approach highlights the interdisciplinary character of KSOP, enforces the dialogue between the different research areas, and therefore connects your perspectives.

15.-16.05.2008 - PhotonicRoadSME Kick-Off Meeting in Karlsruhe
On 15th and 16th of May, the Kick-Off Meeting of the EU funded project PhotonicRoadSME was held in Karlsruhe, Germany. In these two days, 17 participants of the project gathered to discuss the structure and the objectives of the project. The activities for the first 6 months were planned and defined more precisely in two workshops, working out photonic material categories, fabrication technologies, and applications to be considered within the project. All partners went home with a list of tasks and lot of enthusiasm to get PhotonicRoadSME running.
